IceBreak makes it easy for you to merge information into Microsoft Office programs, or Oracle and Access databases.

With IceBreak, you can:

• Merge database fields with a Windows text template
• Create Excel spreadsheets including calculations and graphs
• Access Oracle and Access databases via SQL, directly from RPG and COBOL

How does it do it?
IceBreak collects an order from the ERP solution via the programming language RPG. It then merges the order database fields with a text template via VBScript – the macro language in Microsoft Office. Simple.

In fact, IceBreak supports all Microsoft Office functions that can be called from VBScript.

Use Windows in the traditional 5250 environment
IceBreak quickly creates and formats Microsoft Office documents, saving you time and hassle.

How easy is it?

• Simply select Windows from the 5250 menu and IceBreak starts up a Microsoft Office document.
• The ERP solution works through IceBreak to ensure that the correct address is added to the document.
• IceBreak formats and sets the document up in seconds – even with a color logo.
• IceBreak automatically saves the document using a unique name, so it can be found after the office application has been exited.
